Welcome
This is webspace for the collective work of Seela Misra, a self-taught working artist: painter, animator, musician, ceramicist, illustrator, & bread-maker in Central Texas.
Seela’s artwork can be found in the tasting room of Crowded Barrel Whiskey Company, on musician Jamiee Harris’ release “The Congress House Sessions”, in homes across the country in the form of drawings, paintings, ceramic kitchenware, and handmade prints. She is also known for her stylized music videos for the likes of Jaimee Harris, Pat Byrne, Ali Holder, Christina Martin, Twang Twang Shockaboom, The Belle Sounds, Jeff Plankenhorn, Wilson Marks, and for her own music.
Seela’s artistic education comes from the late-night rabbit holes of YouTube tutorials, Sktchy’s “30 Portraits in 30 Days,” Inktober, and Central Texas pottery studios. Her daily sketchbook practice has been a quiet anchor, shaping her unique visual language through consistency and curiosity.
Currently, she’s a little bit obsessed with: linen fabric, India ink, acrylic glazes, gouache, rice paper, Tina Berning, chickpeas, wheel-thrown tableware, and the meditative act of frame-building. She shares her South Austin studio with her small dog named Liza Minnelli and a 6-year-old sourdough starter named Boris.
